Meet Gemma Gardner
Former British Army soldier, author, researcher and creator of Identity Performance Psychology™ and the AURIS™ Framework.
Why This Work Exists
I joined the British Army at 17 and served for 15 years.
Like many people leaving highly structured environments, I struggled far more with the loss of identity, direction and internal stability than I ever expected. On the outside I could still function, but internally something had shifted. The structure was gone, the clarity was fading, and I spent years searching for answers trying to understand why.
What I eventually realised was this:
most people are trying to improve performance while completely disconnected from identity.
People are taught how to push harder, stay busy and keep going, but very few are ever shown how to rebuild self-trust, emotional regulation, structure and stability when life, pressure or transition disrupts who they are.
That realisation became the foundation of Identity Performance Psychology™ and the AURIS™ Framework:
Awareness. Understanding. Regulation. Identity. Stability.
A practical identity system designed to help people better understand themselves, regulate internally, rebuild identity foundations and create lasting behavioural stability through periods of pressure, change and transition.
Today, that work now exists through books, research, interviews, coaching, partnerships and the AURIS™ membership platform — all built around one core belief:
Identity before performance. Stability before scale.
